Speech & Drama

We are constantly adapting and exploring new and innovate ways to help students to explore, create and enjoy the artistic world.

To ensure each student is given an individual attention class sizes are limited. Private classes can also be arranged to give students of any age or ability the chance to work at their own pace.

  • The ability to use clear diction and vocal projection

All Students are encouraged to take part in our annual productions which are held in January of each year. Students are encouraged to be involved in all aspects such as props, backstage crew and costumes as well as the actual performance. We pride ourselves in ensuring that every child gets their moment to shine.

At Easter time each year, students are invited to sit Exams with the Irish Board of Speech and Drama or London College of Music in Speech, Performance, Oral Communication, Mime or Choral Speaking. We encourage students to take part in the exams as it is great for their confidence, effective communication skills and is so valuable to their overall development in education and work life. The exams are optional to students.

Students also have the option of taking part in Feis Maitiu, Cork and The Speech and Drama Teachers of Ireland Drama Festival in Dublin (held in April each year), along with Auditions for various casting roles.
